Industry News | When gardens encounter technology, the "smart new gameplay" in parks is here!

Release Time:2026/7/2 9:29:16

Robots on duty, smarter garden maintenance

The automatic drug dispensing robot and intelligent spraying robot brought by Beijing Academy of Science and Technology integrate AI intelligent recognition, embodied cross modal fusion and other technologies, with an efficiency increase of about 8 to 10 times and a cost reduction of about 70% compared to traditional methods.

The 'forest nurse' dispensing robot is like an intelligent doctor treating trees. It can determine tree species and diameter through radar and cameras, and then decide what kind of medicine to use, how many holes to drill, and how deep to drill.

The "Clear Space Guardian" intelligent spraying robot has set its sights on pollen and willow catkins. It can identify different tree species, real-time detect pollen concentration and willow catkins scattering degree, and automatically determine whether treatment is needed. The fog cannon can be raised by 60 degrees and rotated horizontally by 320 degrees, with a spray droplet size of only 30 microns. Combined with pollen suppressants, it efficiently wraps and settles suspended particles.

From "Digital Principal" to "Tree X-ray Machine"

Smart parks should not only have equipment, but also be able to serve people and take care of trees.

The "Digital Principal" and "Science Popularization Interactive" robots displayed at the Haidian District Park Management Center can answer tourists' questions and popularize garden knowledge. Intelligent patrol robots can also patrol, monitor pests and diseases, and identify bird and insect calls.

The "Tree X-ray Machine" showcased by Beijing Forestry University is also very special. The appearance of ancient trees is intact, but their interiors may have been hollowed out by pests such as longhorn beetles. In the past, inspections required drilling holes, but now it only takes 1 second to scan like taking an X-ray, and the machine can automatically identify wormholes, decay locations, and even distinguish the types and developmental stages of pests.

The robotic arm trimming truck of Jicheng Shanshui Group has a working radius of 23 meters, making high-altitude trimming safer and more efficient. AI intelligent flower box achieves intelligent maintenance and irrigation free, making flower cultivation easier.

Small troubles also have technological solutions

On summer nights, mosquitoes disturb people, but there is also a more "elegant" nemesis.

Intelligent mosquito killing products simulate human respiration by releasing carbon dioxide, combined with temperature control and UV light to set traps, and then use negative pressure physical killing. The entire process does not require chemical agents, and the mosquito prevention rate can reach 80% to 90%.

The Summer Palace booth tells the story of mosquitoes from another perspective: as an important indicator species of aquatic ecosystems, the existence of chironomids precisely demonstrates the health of water bodies and the richness of biodiversity.

In the darkroom experience area of the 'Natural Garden', glowing plants become the popular focus. Researchers have used gene editing technology to endow plants such as tobacco and sunflowers with autonomous luminescence ability. In the future, these plants are expected to light up the nights in the park.

New varieties and materials make garden cities look better and easier to manage

The Institute of Ancient Trees and Tree Health of Beijing Academy of Landscape and Greening Sciences has independently selected new varieties of Populus tomentosa, such as "Yuanke 1" and "Yuanke 2", as well as new varieties of dry willows, such as "Jingliu 1" to "Jingliu 4", to address the issue of flying fluff from the source.

The institute has independently bred up to 63 new rose varieties, with a focus on showcasing varieties such as "Garden Red Vine", "Red May", "Closed Moon Shy Flower", and "Spring Flower Autumn Moon". The new composite varieties of Chinese catalpa trees, Huaqiao 1, Huaqiao 2, and Huaqiao 3, showcased by the North China Forestry Experimental Center of the Chinese Academy of Forestry, can bloom three times from May to August, with a single inflorescence of up to 50 flowers and an extended flowering period of over 90 days.

At the scene, products such as fertilizers and organic plant coverings made from trimmed branches and dead leaves were also displayed, achieving the goal of "green waste not leaving the garden".

Technology makes parks better understand nature and life

From robot maintenance to digital park principal Q&A; From tree X-ray machine protection to AI flower box flower cultivation; From physical mosquito control to luminescent plants, landscape technology is moving from exhibition booths to urban spaces.

For ordinary citizens, smart landscaping is not a distant professional term. It could be a tree that is precisely diagnosed and treated, a robot that can speak knowledge, or a park that is more beautiful, easier to explore, and easier to manage.

When gardens encounter technology, the beautiful scenery of garden cities becomes closer to our daily lives.
